Our EMF Radiation Assessment and Mitigation Services
EMFstrategy is a service dedicated to assess the built environment for electromagnetic fields, in support of the health of the individual and those office workers at particular risk from EMFs. We measure and mitigate EMF risk for the holistic health benefit of individuals and go beyond the minimum health & safety compliance directive (highlighted in the paragraph below), based on the ALARA principle (as low as reasonably achievable) to support EMF-free living in key lifestyle environments such as the home, workplace, school, leisure. The process empowers you to be the architect of your own health & wellness!
New legislation came into force on 1 July 2016 to protect workers from the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF) in the workplace. In essence the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work (CEMFAW) Regulations 2016 are the transposition into UK law of EU Directive 2013/35/EU – the effect is to introduce, for the first time, mandatory limits on workers’ exposure to EMFs while they are engaged in their professional duties. These regulations do not cover the general public. The safety thresholds are based on long established limits for occupational situations issued by ICNIRP (International Committee on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection). However, the updated guidelines – which take into account 5G’s arrival – have “essentially not changed” since the last batch of recommendations ICNIRP made to WHO in 1998 according to an essay by Professor John William Frank, an experienced epidemiologist and chair of public health research and policy at the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics. His essay published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health – “Electromagnetic fields, 5G and health: what about the precautionary principle?” – concludes that industry and health agencies should “err on the side of caution” and therefore calls for a moratorium on further 5G rollout. ICNIRP hosted a mini-symposium ahead of BioEM2022 on 19 June 2022. The formal presentations focussed on two issues. The first related to compliance with and implementation of the ICNIRP 2020 Radiofrequency Guidelines (an update of ICNIRP 1998.) This is an issue that ICNIRP has received many questions about, and although ‘compliance’ itself is not within the remit of ICNIRP, they have put together presentations to help those working through such issues. Of concern is the difficulty to show compliance with 2 different limits (2020) Vs. only one (1998) so not very practical. And the fact that the 5G realistic assessment techniques are not yet included (ITU emf standards 62322 have not yet been updated) to be published later in 2022 according to a panelist. Another disappointment in the revision of guidelines is the obvious research skew toward telephony sector products Vs. broadcasting, radio etc. where data gaps have widened and the previous short easy references have been removed and limits dropped, leaving people exposed. For example, contact currents that give rise to shocks and burns at high power sites. Thus, as “experts did not believe they had solutions” and in the interest of scientific objectivity we choose to err on the side of caution and urge you to view the presentations in conjunction with the journal on Environmental Health “Self-referencing authorships behind the ICNIRP 2020 radiation protection guidelines” by Else K. Nordhagen and Einar Flydal, until a definitive.
What We Do
EMF Assessments of Existing Homes
What is going on in your home that may affect your health?
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Most homes need improvement and some should be avoided.
Radiation-Free Building
A home should support the lifestyle and your health.
Don’t put up with the exposure any longer
Most homes are filled with low-level radiation exposure from internal wiring, external power supply systems, external radio frequency radiation sources like phone towers and of course wireless transmission from inside the home. It is important to reduce this as much as possible but in the bedroom this is absolutely critical. During sleep, the body is meant to rest and regenerate and as our bodies are electrical miracles, it is hard to repair effectively when being exposed to constant irritation.
Let’s investigate your home together and enable you to take action to improve your environment and reduce your risk.
- Power lines past the home
- Transmission lines in the area
- Power supply to the home
- Smart meters
- Stray currents
- Electrical fields from internal wiring
- Appliances
- Game consoles
- Wiring faults
- Dimmers
- Invasion of RF radiation from outside
- Cellphone towers
- Radar and Airport navigation systems
- Wifi in the neighbourhood
- Geopathic Stress
Buying or Renting a home commits you to a property for a long time. Before you move in, you should know that the common exposures to EMF radiation from internal and external sources can be addressed, or not. If they can’t be fixed, you should form your own opinion if you’re willing to take the risk that un-fixable radiation exposure may affect the health or vitality of the family. Therefore, our consulting & project management approach is also platform neutral so we will work with any wellbeing standard, to solve your problems.
Similar to a pest inspection or a structural building inspection, should we not also investigate if the building will support your health instead of detract from it?
- Area investigation
- Boundary check
- Power lines in area
- Power supply to building
- Effects of Solar Power
- Wiring fault
- Wiring near bedrooms
- Influx of RF radiation
- Cellphone towers
- Wifi in the area
- Geopathic Stress
- Effects of stray current
Existing homes end up with the same EMF radiation problems because when they are built, there is no expertise and experience to avoid the common issues. Fixing after the fact is often (not always) possible, but is invariably more complicated. It is more cost effective to incorporate ‘small’ design alterations to avoid burdens to health, whilst the property is being built.
Together with other expert teams we will guide you in your project, ideally well before the land is secured or as soon as possible after that.
- Land selection checks
- Dwelling placement recommendation
- Geopathic Stress avoidance
- Geopathic Stress mitigation
- Magnetic fields affecting area
- Design analysis for common mistakes
- Mitigation approach options
- Briefing of trades people
- Liaison with architectural team
- Onsite guidance is possible
- Renter options also possible
